La Datcha is the ultimate ski-In/ski-Out luxury chalet in Val Thorens, France. The flagship chalet is at a height of 2,300m with direct access to snow sure slopes and the incredible amenities that Val Thorens has to offer.
Overview
La Datcha is an incredible chalet in Val Thorens, France. No expense has been spared throughout the interior which spreads over 5 floors and covers 1200m². Throughout the chalet there are wonderful south-facing views of the surrounding Glacier de Peclet and Cime de Caron mountains. The property sleeps up to 15 guests over 8 stylish bedrooms.
Off the slopes guests can return to the chalet to make the most of the incredible spa facilities. Here you can take a dip in the indoor pool or soak in the outdoor hot tub with a glass of champagne. Kids will love the dedicated jungle theme playroom as well as the 2 x plush cinema rooms with surround sound and relaxing large sofa beds. Keen golfers and drivers have a golf and car simulator to keep their practice up.
The chalet staff will cater for all your needs after which guests can retire around the fire in the sitting room for post dinner coffee and digestifs or choose to cigar from the cigar room.
Location is everything when it comes to a chalet of this standard and the Datcha occupies one of the most desirable locations in Val Thorens at 2,300m. This is where the Grand Rue or the main street meets the Rue de Gabroulaz. Set to the side of the blue Plein Sud piste where the piste flattens out and forks off to two gentle paths. One path takes skiers to the Plein Sud chairlift and the other chairlifts and cable cars to reach the other resorts within the 3 Valleys. On the same piste is the Folie Douce apres bar.
From the chalet there is a 5-10 minutes walk to reach the local restaurants, bars, bowling alley and fitness centre.
As soon as you step through the door you will be taken back by the sumptuous interior, soft lighting and deep velvet, leather and furs fabrics. A mixture of classic antique and contemporary pieces combine to create a wonderful feel.
The elegant dining room is surrounded by wood panelling and in the centre a marble and wood dining table. Suspended above the table is an intricate crystal chandelier which is the focal point of the room. The walls are adorned with classic pieces of artwork and beautiful woodwork.
Each of the 8 bedrooms has been finished with the classic antique furnishings, wood finish to the ceilings, soft lights and rich colours schemes. The walls have leather, furs and cowhides as features. Marble tops in the bathrooms and unique gold tiling give an almost Italian villa feel. The master bedroom has high vaulted ceilings, a seating area which leads out to a balcony overlooking the slopes, fireplace, office area and en suite.
The 7 chalet staff in the chalet Datcha are sure to guarantee guests have the best experience possible. The Chalet manager will oversee everything and make sure your week runs smoothly. A fully trained and experienced chef will create some delicious meals for your breakfast, afternoon tea and 4 course evening meal 6 nights of the week. 3 hosts and housekeepers will also look after the property and service your food. Finally a resort driver will ferry guests around to any other areas of the resort.
This decadent chalet is one of Val Thorens’ flagship chalets. The facilities and location can’t be beaten and as such has been designed to accommodate most groups from families, corporate to friends. Families will love the leisure facilities, easy ski access to the wonderful jungle playroom.
